This is more or less a practical exam for the students who work in teams in collaboration with a charity of their choice and donate the proceeds of the event to that charity. We are delighted that Chloe, Aarushi, Rachael and their team have chosen GRACE. In their own words, they “hope to contribute a student voice to GRACE and spread awareness on campus about who we are and what we do for the community”.

The team are planning an event that highlights influential women in music through the decades. From Abba to Heart to Whitney Houston and Ariana Grande, the focus being on celebrating women. This will take the form of a Karaoke and Dance party at the University of Surrey on 7th May 2019. Details will be published on our website in due course.

The team have a small amount of seed funding from the university which will cover the cost of their venue for the event, but they are actively seeking sponsorship. If you wish to sponsor this event or wish to know more please get in touch with the team.

To partly fund their costs, the students will be holding a cake sale at the University of Surrey on Thursday 21 March. Any donations of cakes will be very welcome. The team is hoping that lots of Students and Staff will be buying their yummy cakes and bakes.

To get in touch with the team regarding cake donations, sponsorship or more information about any of the events, please email Aarushi at at00924@surrey.ac.uk.
