Current Research
1. Collaborative research studying drug resistance in ovarian cancer.
This is a particularly important study as there are particular problems associated with the use of platinum agents and the taxAnes. Whilst these agents are a very effective first line therapy for the treatment of ovarian cancer, a very high percentage of women will develop resistance to these therapies. The reasons underlying this are, at present, unclear and we hope this research will shed some light on the causes for this so we can prevent women developing resistance to the therapies.
2. Safety of HRT in women after treatment for ovarian cancer.
3. Cohort study of women with cervical cancer to investigate differences in risk factors and presentation of adeno-carcinoma versus squamous cell carcinoma.
4. Investigation to measure the psychosocial impact of cervical cancer on women and their partners. |
